Marion County 24-Hour Release Status
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office does not publish a distinct rolling 24-hour release feed in the reviewed channels. There is no official daily endpoint, stated refresh rate, or fixed public retention period to report. The Marion Jail Viewer is useful, but it is a historical booking database built around known-person and booking-date searches.
A real 24-hour interval needs a start timestamp, end timestamp, and timezone. “Today” is a calendar day, while “the last 24 hours” is a rolling span. Neither can be produced completely by setting Jail Viewer to one booking day. An older booking may end today, yet a same-day booking filter will miss it.
Marion County Release Date Quirk
The official query has Last Name, First Name, Booking From Date, and Booking To Date fields. Those dates filter the booking event. They do not filter actual release. This distinction is the most important local fact for a daily release check. A person booked weeks earlier and released during the last day stays outside a one-day booking query. A person booked today may still be in custody.
The official booking query supports a percent sign as a name wildcard. For a known person, use a broad date range around the arrest and open each possible booking. The manifest image below shows the booking-oriented fields and the absence of a release-window selector.
The screen supports person-specific research. It does not support publishing a synthetic list of everyone released during a day.
Note: Jail Viewer data changes periodically, but Marion County does not publish a minute-by-minute update promise for release entries.
Check Marion County 24-Hour Releases
For one named person, the booking database can provide affirmative evidence that the county booking ended. The actual release date is stronger than disappearance from a current view, a blank Location field, or an estimated date. Keep the booking number because one person may have more than one custody episode.
- Set the exact rolling interval you mean. Write the start and end in local time so a later request is unambiguous.
- Search the person’s full name in Jail Viewer. Use a broad booking range and a percent wildcard if spelling is uncertain.
- Open every plausible booking. Match identifiers, then read Release Date, Scheduled Release Date, and Location as separate fields.
- Look for an actual release entry or a detail heading that says the person was released as of a date. Do not substitute the scheduled date.
- Call the Jail Release Office at 503-588-8560 when a newly processed event is unclear. For a complete daily cohort, send a written request to MCSO.
A blank Location has a special Marion County meaning: Jail Viewer says it can indicate placement at the Transition Center. It is not proof that the person is free. If the actual release field is filled but the destination matters, ask for the release sheet or disposition.

Marion County Daily Release Fields
Jail Viewer results expose useful booking and release fields even though the service does not package them as a daily release feed. Each field answers a narrow question. Several do not establish a community release by themselves.

The public rows also may include date of birth, race, and sex. Detail pages can add personal description, arrest agency, and charge status. A complete release record may contain the actual time, release method, authorizing court or officer, and receiving agency, but Jail Viewer does not promise that all those facts appear publicly.
Request Marion County Daily Releases
A true all-person 24-hour list requires a release-date extract from the custodian. Address the request to the MCSO Criminal Records Unit and define the interval with exact timestamps. Ask for releasable booking episodes with actual releases in that span, plus booking number, booking date, actual release date and time, and release disposition or destination. Exempt fields can be excluded.

Oregon Public Records Law begins at ORS 192.311. The general inspection right is in ORS 192.314, while ORS 192.329 governs acknowledgment and response timing with exceptions for clarification, fees, and practical limits. Use the current Report Request Form and live fee schedule. Do not promise a flat cost or delivery date.
A focused request should also ask the agency to state the legal basis for any withheld field and release segregable public portions. An incident narrative is a different record and may be restricted while a case remains open.
Marion County Bail Release Hours
Marion County splits bail service by time and payment method. The Circuit Court Annex at the jail handles listed bail payments on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It accepts cash, qualifying cashier’s checks, and credit or debit cards under its rules. The Jail Bail Window covers weekday nights, weekends, and holidays, but it is cash only.
Posting bail starts the release process while the case remains pending. It does not mean dismissal, acquittal, or sentence completion. Processing can take time, and the researched jail pages publish no fixed daily release hour. Confirm the actual exit in Jail Viewer or with the Release Office rather than estimating from payment time.

Marion County Release or Transfer
An actual release date confirms that the Marion County booking episode ended. It does not always prove return to the community. A person may post security, finish local custody, receive a court order, move to the Transition Center, enter Oregon DOC custody, or be handed to another jurisdiction. A detainer is an order or request that can cause an immediate transfer.

VISOR can send a future custody-change notice for participating county and state records. It is not a permanent release archive. Oregon Offender Search covers current DOC custody or Community Corrections supervision, not every completed county booking. Match each tool to the custodian.
Marion County Release Window Choice
A rolling day is best when the release was expected very recently and the person is known. If the time may have crossed a weekend, holiday, or unclear processing point, use the Marion County 72-Hour Releases workflow instead. That wider span still requires a records request for a complete cohort because the same booking-date limitation applies.
Calendar boundaries matter. A release at the edge of midnight may fall into one calendar-day report and a different rolling window. Save the observation time, the exact actual release value, and the booking number. This prevents a later status change from being confused with the original record.
